Ceramics - Adult Handbuilding Class (6-Week Sessions)

Join your instructor Katrina for an introduction to hand building with clay. This class is for both beginning and returning adult (18+) students who would like to build and develop their handbuilding skills. From refining the pinch-pot, to constructing forms with slabs, this 6-week session will be a whirlwind of learning! 

Students will learn to prepare and construct basic forms including, but not limited to, cups, mugs, bowls, plates/platters, vases, bottles, lidded-containers, etc. The final class will be dedicated to glazing and decorating ware. Pieces will be mid-fired in our electric kiln to Cone 5/6. They will be fired & kept at the studio for pick-up up to a month after class ends.

Health & Safety - Students will need to wear closed-toed shoes, have long hair tied back, and avoid loose-fitting clothing which may get caught on items in the kiln yard.

• Classes will meet 2 days per week for 6 weeks and will be charged as a package for $450
• First bag of clay is included, and will also be available for purchase (from $25-$30/bag)
• Tools, brushes and glazes, & cone 5 firing will be included
• Class is limited to 8 students (only paid participants are allowed in class & open studio) 
• Open Studio Hours will be included with your class

Class Schedule:

• 10:00-10:30 Arrival and demo
• 10:30-11:45 Work period
• 11:45-12:00 Clean up

REFUND POLICY

Please cancel 14 days prior to first class for full refund. If canceled after 14 days refund will be determined if class is filled. Thank you for understanding.
